Group ride(s) Saturday.

With Thanksgiving travel and work I think I've missed the last 2 or 3 Saturday group rides, so it was good to be back. 27 degrees as we rolled out for the first of 3 separate ~20 mile loops.
People come and go , with many of us completing all 3.

The sun still low in the sky as we head out early. There was actually ice on the roads!

A smooth roll towards the warmth of the rising sun.

Felt pretty decent today, made some good efforts. Been trying to get to my ideal climbing weight, HAH, so I've been deep in the caloric deficit mode for a week or so. It's hard to ride your fastest every day in a negative energy balance, but better to suffer and cut the lb's now in the "off" season than next year when the racing start.

A few Christmas parties tonight, gonna try my best to behave......................

Comments:
I came from "Up in Alaska" to Virginia Beach. "What a wonderful modern age we live in".
Lots of riders in this area, Groundhog Mountain Va. I got a comment the other day from a guy who used to ride up Squirrel Spur http://www.roanoke.com/outdoors/biking/wb/xp-8727 and then on to Floyd then home the next day.
I'll take the level bike path, thank you.
